Sonia Freeman, CPA, CGMA

“One of the most rewarding things for me is when a client reaches out to discuss a potential transaction before they enter into it. The accounting treatment can sometimes yield a result that is not as intuitive as you might think.”

What I do for Clients

Hi, my name is Sonia, and I’ve worked for PKF Texas for 39 years. I have 39 years of experience in accounting. I love working with clients in the manufacturing and distribution and technology, as well as serving not-for-profits and conducting employee benefit plan audits. My focus is on International Business, working with companies headquartered in Houston with operations throughout the world, as well as foreign-owned companies with U.S. operations.

I appreciate my clients by being available and responsive, with consistent touch points and ongoing conversations to talk through challenges.

When I’m not at work, you can find me spending time with my family, reading a good book, or volunteering with not-for-profit organizations to help them achieve their missions.

What does “Appreciating Your Business” mean to you?

We appreciate working with clients, because their industries are interesting, and it’s great to watch their businesses grow and develop. We are a business, too, so when we see what our clients are doing to grow, we try to correlate that to our own. They help us make our business better and inspire us to do better. Not just in business either, but through  different aspects, like culture, the pandemic, retention, etc.
