Why did you choose to be a CPA and/or advisor?
Prayed about it and got an answer.
What do you like best about helping clients?
I enjoy making a difference in their lives. Someone once told me that the only relationship more intimate than that of a spouse is that of your accountant. I was still in school at the time, so I didn't understand what he meant. Since then I have seen the truth in the statement.
Usually, it comes in the form of a comment such as, "Oh, no, don't worry about talking to him. My husband does what to know or care about our taxes; he wants me to handle it." However, sometimes it is more direct -- for example, "No, my wife doesn't have a clue what I make, nor do I want her to, because then everyone in her family will know." Though it shouldn't be this way, as trusted advisors, some clients do tell us things that they wouldn't tell even their own spouse. That is quite a charge and responsibility. When you make a difference in this area of someone's life, the difference ripples through the rest of the areas of their life. I may not only be saving taxes and helping people provide jobs, but I'm possibly also saving marriages, relationships and even lives that stress in this area would have destroyed.
